Spring has sprung at mayflower and we are delighted to welcome back our Living Eggs
Head Teacher Welcome

Welcome to Mayflower Primary School, a busy, vibrant, diverse, creative, and very high performing Learning Community in the heart of the beautiful City of Leicester.

We hope that our website gives an indication of what we are all about, and that this motivates you as much as it motivates us! We cannot wait to meet you, share some of our achievements, and explain why so many parents choose our school for their wonderful children

At Mayflower, we like to look at the whole-child, recognising that there is a strong connection between how much they enjoy their schooling and the academic standards they achieve. In 2022, we were one of the highest performing schools in the country, not because we focus on exams, but because of the creative, diverse, international curriculum we offer, where children encounter real learning experiences in the real world, with adults who care very deeply for them. This helps to embed their learning, make them feel proud, and provide all the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to embrace secondary school transition at the end of Year 6.

We hope you will become part of our exciting journey….

Mr. L. Whitney – Head Teacher.

Together we grow – A Mayflower journey

To acknowledge and reflect on the massive impact that our temporary closure due to Reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) had on our Mayflower community, the creativity council worked with Rendah films to create this beautiful story. As a child-led project, our Mayflower children shaped the process: choosing the narrative arc of the film; selecting children and staff to interview as well as shooting appropriate footage to accompany the voices. Our Mayflower children were the driving force behind the project and we are so proud of what they have achieved.

Mindfulness and Wellbeing

"Mayflower Primary School ensures children learn in a safe, caring and enriching environment. Children are taught how to keep themselves safe, to develop positive and healthy relationships, how to avoid situations where they might be at risk including by being exploited."

The magical foxes lived where the school now stands, and although they did not want to move, they knew that the school would help people, just like they did. As a result, the family of foxes agreed to scatter across Evington and Leicester, bringing joy and wonder to everyone they meet....READ MORE
