Phonics

Read Write Inc., developed by Ruth Miskin, is a whole-school literacy programme for 4-11-year-olds designed to create fluent readers, confident speakers and willing writers. Read Write Inc phonics and Get Writing! are used for homogenous group teaching in F2 and KS1 and as an intervention in KS2, itis a systematic and dynamic literacy programme rooted in phonics. All children from F2 to Year 6 benefit from this scheme. Read Write Inc Fresh Start is used as an intervention scheme in Year 6. All teaching staff and Learning support staff are fully trained to follow and deliver this scheme. All of the Read Write Inc. programmes totally match the new National Curriculum and meet the requirements of the OFSTED framework.
